Leadership Consultation Calls

Bishops, Relief Society Presidents and Elders Quorum Presidents (and others upon assignment from the aforementioned leaders) are invited to join us for a Leadership Consultation Call on the following dates, Sundays at 8 p.m.  An AMCAP board member will host the calls and will be joined by another local therapist. We will spend 15-20 minutes on a topic and then 40-45 discussing matters brought by participants. To join and submit a question please register here: Leadership Consultation Calls

  • September 22 - Creating Supportive Conversations - We'll explore how to talk with members in a supportive way without stepping into “counseling,” helping them to open up while also setting helpful boundaries.

Download these resources to learn more about mental health topics and how to help.

 

  • Clergy Bridge: Created at BYU to educate clergy about mental health problems, treatment options, and suggestions on what leaders can do.  Topics include mental illness, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, suicide, substance abuse and addiction, domestic abuse, sexual addictions, eating disorders and financial issues around debt and job loss.

  • Guidebook for Emotional Disorders: Created by LDS Family Services, Richmond, VA Office.  The guidebook focuses on giving a brief overview of various emotional disorders, what helpers can do, and suggested resources.
